Learn about the far-reaching benefits of good digestion and how to dramatically improve your health and wellbeing using diet, yoga and lifestyle medicine with functional medicine practitioner, nutritionist and yoga teacher Chloe Manlay.

During this special event we will explore some of the foods and behaviours that help to support our gut health and the trillions of bacteria that live there and help make up our ‘second brain’.  We will dive deep into the gut-brain connection and how a regular yoga and meditation practice can help to restore gut function and improve mood disorders. 

The day includes yoga, guided meditation, walks in nature and a yummy gut loving lunch!

This day retreat is designed for anyone with a diagnosed digestive disorder such as IBS, or just wants to learn more about the fascinating role the gut has on our health and wellbeing. It is open to all levels and abilities of yoga and meditation. 

Chloe Manlay is a certified functional medicine practitioner, qualified nutritional therapist and 300hr yoga teacher. She regularly hosts workshops, talks and retreats as well as running a busy clinic offering consultations in Brighton and online. Chloe is a registered member of the British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

You are warmly invited to this one day mini retreat based in Hove.

During the day you will take part in a morning and afternoon yoga session, you will make a vision board, have a delicious and nutritious lunch with a nutrition talk and then spend some time learning about aromatherapy oils whilst making a personalised facial scrub. You will leave feeling refreshed, relaxed and ready for the Autumn season.

The retreat is being run by two highly experienced practitioners who will gently guide and support you during the day.

Chloe Manlay is a nutritional therapist, yoga teacher, health coach and functional medicine practitioner. She has a special interest in digestive disorders, weight loss and skin health. She is passionate about supporting her clients to take better care of their health using nutrition, yoga and breath work.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

16yrs +, no experience of yoga neccessary. Pregnant women welcome. Please notifiy us when booking.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is free parking outside the clinic and buses from central Brighton and Hove stop very close the clinic.

What can I bring to the event?

No need to bring anything. Wear clothing you are comfrtable practicing yoga in.If you have a yoga mat and props feel free to bring them with you, however these will be provided.

    FAQ:

    Do I need to come to The Yoga Garden during the cleanse?

    The beginning and closing classes are entirely optional, all the content will be available online.

     

     

    Do I need a facebook profile to do the cleanse?

    You are able to do the cleanse just with an email address as I can send over all the content directly to you, however, without a facebook account you cannot be in the facebook group where the daily tips and inspiration are posted.

     

    I have an event halfway through, can I still do it?

    Of course! The cleanse is not about total deprivation, but about creating healthy new habits and taking time for self-care. You choose how far you want to take the guidelines around alcohol intake for example, obviously the more you follow the guidelines the more you are likely to achieve.

    I also think having parties and social gatherings are a great real-life challenge and an opportunity for you to alter your ‘normal’ behaviour with the help and support of the online community.

     

    I am a self-confessed caffeine addict, can I still do it?

    Yes! I advise everyone to reduce caffeine slowly and instructions are given on this in order to avoid headaches and other withdrawel symptoms.There is also no need to give it up entirely, a reduction from 3 to 1 cups per day is still a huge achievement.

     

    I am pregnant or breastfeeding, can I still do it?

    There are a few adjustments to the plan for those the are pregnant and breastfeeding, I will personally talk these through with you.

     

    I don’t know how to cook

    There is a great variety of recipes included so all abilities in the kitchen are catered for, as long as you are willing to give it a go! This is a great opportunity for those new to cooking to gain experience with the support of an experienced cook on hand.     I don’t have time to cook my own food every day

    This Programme is designed to simplify feeding yourself with nutritious food, I do all of the meal planning and shopping lists so all you have to do is put in a food order and you are good to go. The recipes are also labelled by the amount of time they take to prepare ranging from 5 to 45 minutes. However, if you have absolutely no interest in making time to cook delicious and nutritious meals, and don't have anyone to do it for you!, this cleanse might not be for you. 

     

    I have never done yoga before

    The online yoga classes are suitable for all levels and abilities.

     

    Can I start a few days after the start date?

    Absolutely, all the content will be up on the facebook group until the end of the month.

      Go with the Flow Yoga and Surf Holiday

      I am thrilled to have been asked by Omega Movement to join them for a Yoga and Surf Holiday this March in Morocco. 

      Not only does it combine my favourite things sun, sea, surf and yoga, but I am co-teaching with my best friend of 20 years and fellow yoga teacher and yoga therapist Molly.
