My Expertise & Philosophy
My programmes move way beyond the diet
I trained under the Functional Medicine model which means assessing you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms or illness. This model addresses the underlying causes of imbalance and disease.
My role as a health coach sees me working together with you to uncover any emotional or mental blocks you might have to fulfilling your ultimate health goals. You wouldn’t believe how many women I work with don’t ever believe they CAN lose weight or heal their skin - I get it, I was there with my skin and digestion at one point too. This is what makes me different.
Coaching conversations lead to accountable actions
As a coach my job is to connect you back to yourself - helping you unlock the best version of you. I do this by getting to know you and providing a non-judgemental mirror to your thought patterns and behaviours.
Regular sessions ensure you stay accountable for the actions you set yourself. My role at each session is to mentor, support, challenge and encourage you. The result will be you feeling balanced, confident and happy with who you are. You will feel empowered to act on the recommendations I have made for you, therefore achieving your short and long term health goals with grace and ease.
If you think of nutrition as the foundations, and health coaching as the bricks, yoga is the cement that holds everything together. It is the ultimate tool in my self-care kit!
Nutritional Therapy is about understanding your body and exploring the best dietary changes to suit your individual needs. As a yoga teacher, I also incorporate relevant aspects of how lifestyle considerations (like mindfulness, natural movement, posture and breathing) can add into a fully rounded lifestyle package to help you find the best way to find vitality, energy and enjoyment in life.
Before the consultation
When you book an appointment, you will be sent a health and lifestyle questionnaire which includes details of your health, your goals, and your current lifestyle. It gets pretty in depth but helps me to start forming a timeline of your health, so the more detail the better.
At the consultation
Your initial consultation will last between 60-90 minutes. During this time I put on my detective hat and start formulating a picture of your current health and wellbeing, and create a timeline of events that has led you up to here. I will consider genetics, diet, lifestyle, sleep, work, routine, family and relationships trying to get to know as much about you so I know exactly how and where to target your treatment in the short and long term.
We will spend time defining your goals and you will fill out a Wellness Vision after the first consultation that will state your short and long term goals.
Follow up appointments
Your first follow up takes place 1-2 weeks after the first consultation. Here I will take you through your personalised diet and lifestyle programme, supplement protocol and recommendations for Functional Testing if appropriate. Your programme can include meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, yoga postures, mindfulness meditation and breathing exercises.
Together we will go through your Wellness Vision and define your short and long term goals, then starting making action points for you to get started on right away. I will be able to advise you on a realistic timeline for achieving your goals and how much support you will need.
